Hello, fellow Qigong-ers! I hope you are enjoying a lovely winter break. I’m publishing this newsletter a few days early to remind you that we’ll meet online tomorrow, Sunday December 29, but not on the 31st.
This morning, as I tested the icy sidewalks and decided it was too risky to drive, I was reminded how grateful I am that, like the postman, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night” has to keep us from our Qigong classes. On cold, gloomy days like this, we can gong our qi right in the comfort and safety of our homes.
Were you initially reluctant to try Zoom? I know I was, until I actually began using it for our classes. Now, I find myself explaining to newbies that our Zoom classes might surprise them and exceed their expectations. For one thing, we’re a solid, friendly, supportive group who have been through a lot together, including a pandemic, two national elections, and assorted personal struggles and losses. We know we can rely on each other’s energy to raise and strengthen our spirits, to lower stress, and perhaps have a few laughs just when we need them most. We have come to trust and rely on this formula to keep ourselves healthy and balanced.
Now that I am teaching more in-person classes, our online classes also help me keep the energy flowing for you between those in-person sessions. I agree that in-person classes are great, even preferable, but the convenience of meeting regularly on Zoom can’t be underestimated. My teaching method is to get to know each student’s learning style and individual challenges, whether in-person or online. The more often I have the pleasure of working with you, the better I can help you progress with your practice. So, the more the merrier, you all!
One last expression of gratitude: I am very thankful that my policy of keeping these classes donation based continues to work for us. Your donations, big or small, help me continue to upgrade the equipment as well as keep up with my own training and education, a process which never ends.
Wishing you a new year full of love, health, and resilience. I look forward to cultivating more positive qi with you in 2025!
