How to de-creak stiff and achy joints
How to de-creak stiff and achy joints
Years ago, a friend suggested I name my website “Creaknomore.com”. I thought that was hilarious, and Lord knows we need to keep a sense of humor as we move through increasingly complicated lives.
Want to rejuvenate your creaky joints? Qigong offers excellent options. It’s gentle and non-competitive; nothing is ever forced and all movements can be modified. You always have the freedom to choose to move more slowly, or in a smaller range, or even skip an exercise altogether if it doesn’t suit you. Gentle and non-competitive, yes, yet Qigong also strengthens and lubricates the connective tissue which supports the joints while helping correct faulty alignment, a factor which greatly contributes to wear and tear.
During the past few classes, we’ve returned to the “Silk Reeling” technique which is designed to bring healing circulation deep into the joints. It’s a great way to “de-creak” as well as transform stress into relaxed, vibrant energy. Check out this week’s free video tip, above, to learn another fantastically simple and effective method for doing this: “Qi Massage”. All week I’ll be teaching other ways to apply this technique; you can use it your low back, neck, and basically anywhere else you feel creaky and tight. It’s never to late to join us, and beginners are always very welcome!
