Can Qigong Help Flatten my Stomach?

Research shows the answer is yes! Below is an easy-to-read abstract of a study performed between 2016-2019 of about 543 participants over the age of 50. (Tai Chi compares closely to Qigong in exercise variables, so the two are basically interchangeable as far research goes.) I was especially gratified to read that the Tai Qi group sustained its benefits---reduced waist circumference, higher “good” cholesterol levels--- longer than the conventional exercise group.

How did the Tai Chi group get such good results and manage to keep them going longer? Well, you’ll just have to stop by my Qigong class this week to find out. Hint: it has to do with mindfulness, lowered stress, and (my favorite) ENJOYING the exercises more. Now we have even more evidence-based clinical information to support what we’ve already discovered through practicing together:  Qigong is a fun, effective way to feel better, have more energy, and be healthier, too.
