Live Zoom Qigong with Cris, Sept 5 - 11 , 2022

Qigong Classes Start Next Week! (Sept. 6 at 9:30 am)

Some of our Qi crew at Qigong for Gardeners, Innisfree Gardens, July

It’s hard to believe it, but one week from tomorrow will be our first Qigong class back after the August break. I hope you’re all enjoying the changing, late-summer energy. We’re in a draught here in the east, but as my neighbor points out, that makes it easier to pull weeds---a nice example of the principle that there’s always a drop of Yin in Yang, and a drop of Yang in Yin.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve enjoyed researching a Qigong form called Yi Jin Jing, or muscle tendon strengthening.  Based on ancient foundational principles, its movements were codified into a 12- exercise Qigong form in the 70’s. There are lots of variations, and from among them I’m choosing the versions that I believe will work best for you. I think you’ll enjoy them: they’re a little different, feel great, and create interesting opportunities to stretch and strengthen in new ways.

Meanwhile, I love the picture above, taken at our Qigong for Gardeners event in July. It was so much fun to meet some of you in person for the first time! More live events to come, including…

Schedule Notes: Another Qigong for Gardeners will take place at Innisfree Garden on Saturday Oct 8. Also, our Millbrook library classes begin again soon: mark your calendars and join us live or in person.  Fridays September 9 and 23.
