A Foot to Stand On

(link to the class at end of newsletter below)

Today’s “exercise hor’s d’oeuvre” is one I wish everyone would nibble on.  CLICK HERE It’s simple, it’s easy, it feels great (the next best thing to a foot massage) and it can really improve your balance. As part of the delicious Silk Reeling technique from Qigong, its movements are smooth, unforced, and circular. Moving like this brings flexibility and circulation deep into the joints, moisturizing the tendons and cartilage. It helps us feel where our body’s weight is being directed: is it more toward the heels? The outside of our feet? And then, very importantly, it creates a freer, less painful range of motion so the feet and ankles can adapt to whatever surface they stand on, or direction they move in. This increases grace and agility and helps prevent falls.

Of course, being a Qigong exercise, there’s even more to explore such as learning to deepen and relax your breathing, and discovering how to focus that healing, rejuvenating circulation in a sensitive and effective way.  Try the class and you’ll see what I mean. As always, it’s free--- donations are optional. See my website for more information.
